There are many types of load switches. From the environmental division, there are indoor types and outdoor types; from the arc extinguishing form and the arc extinguishing medium, there are pressure type, gas production, vacuum, SF6, etc. For high -voltage users, most of the old users are used for indoor pressure type or gas production; new users use ring network cabinets, mostly SF6 types. The outdoor style is used on the overhead line.
Although the structure of the load switch is more complicated than isolated switch, it is still relatively simple, and there are obvious disconnection points when disconnect. Because it has a simple arc extinguishing device, it has a certain ability to break.

From a structural point of view, there are two main types of load switches, one is installed on the wall and architecture independently, and its structure is similar to the isolation switch; the other is to install it in a high -voltage switch cabinet, especially the vacuum or SF6 is used. Gas is closer to the circuit breaker. The purpose of the load switch contains the comprehensive use of the two types of load switches.
When the load switch is disconnected, there are obvious disconnection points like an isolated switch, so electrical isolation can be charged. Provide a necessary condition for reliable power outages for power outages or lines.

The load switch has a simple arc extinguishing device, so the load current within the rated current can be divided and the load switch itself. It can be used to divide and meet a certain capacity transformer, capacitor group, and a certain capacity distribution line. Some workshop transformers are far from the circuit breaker from the high -voltage power distribution room. There is no obvious disconnection point in the transformer room in the workshop during power outages. Often, a high -voltage load switch is installed on the wall of the transformer room. The air load current of the transformer can also provide obvious disconnection points to ensure the safety and reliability of power outages.

Equipped with a load switch with a high -voltage fuse can be used as a broken circuit breaker with limited flow capacity. At this time, the load switch itself is used for the load current under the normal situation, and the high -voltage fuse is used to cut off the short -circuit fault current. This combination is generally adopted: load switch, high -voltage fuse, ground knife gate, and an operating mechanism that can automatically break the load switch after melting. However, the load switches here are mostly vacuum or hexafluoride, and the entire loop network cabinet is not large and can bring a transformer with a capacity.
