Zinc oxide arrester is the current international advanced overvoltage protector. Because its core component adopts zinc oxide resistance sheet; compared with the traditional silicon carbide arrester, the volt-ampere characteristics of the arrester are improved, and the overvoltage current capacity is improved, thus bringing about fundamental changes in the characteristics of the arrester.
When the arrester is under normal operating voltage, the current flowing through the arrester is only microampere. When subjected to overvoltage, due to the nonlinearity of the zinc oxide resistor, the current flowing through the arrester instantly reaches thousands of amperes. The arrester is in the conducting state, release overvoltage energy, thus effectively limiting the damage of overvoltage to power transmission and transformation equipment.
Station Type Surge Arrester 48KV 10kA is used to protect electrical equipment in AC power systems from atmospheric overvoltage and operating overvoltage damage.
