High-voltage circuit breaker, we also call it high-voltage switch. Its function is generally used to cut off the current in high-voltage circuits. When the circuit fails, it can also function as a protection device, which can cut off the current exceeding the load and some Short-circuit current, let us take a look at it next.

The main function of the high-voltage circuit breaker in high-voltage current is to control it. It is one of the indispensable components in the high-voltage circuit. High-voltage circuit breakers are generally used in normal operating circuits to control the on and off of current. In the event of a fault, the circuit breaker will automatically disconnect the circuit. Of course, sometimes some special events may occur. In an unexpected situation, if the circuit breaker automatically recloses on the faulty circuit, a short-circuit current may flow. A high-voltage circuit breaker is a specialized electrical appliance that interrupts a circuit in the event of a fault.

The function and control function of the high-voltage circuit breaker is to put some or all of the electrical equipment and some or all of the lines into or out of operation according to the needs of the power system operation.

1. The main types of high-voltage switches are divided according to the arc extinguishing medium: oil circuit breakers, air circuit breakers, vacuum circuit breakers, circuit breakers, solid gas-generating circuit breakers, and magnetic blown circuit breakers. According to the nature of operation, it can be divided into: electric mechanism, pneumatic mechanism, hydraulic mechanism, spring energy storage mechanism, and manual mechanism.

2. High-voltage circuit breakers are suitable for high-voltage currents in circuits. Reducing high-voltage currents above rated values is an important part of high-voltage circuits. In addition, high-voltage circuit breakers are protective devices that switch after the current has failed or at normal values. In addition, the capacity design of high-voltage circuit breakers is relatively large, mainly by using current transformers to increase the protection of the circuit breakers.

3. Circuit breakers are divided into high-voltage circuit breakers and low-voltage circuit breakers according to their scope of use. The boundary between high and low voltage is relatively vague. Generally, circuit breakers above 3KV are called high-voltage electrical appliances. The working principle of the circuit breaker is that when there is a short circuit, the magnetic field generated by the large current overcomes the reaction spring, the release pulls the operating mechanism, and the switch trips instantly.

4. The high-voltage circuit breaker has the following functions: Overload protection: When the current in the circuit exceeds the rated value, the high-voltage circuit breaker automatically trips, cuts off the circuit, and protects the power equipment. Short-circuit protection: When a short-circuit event occurs in the circuit, the high-voltage circuit breaker automatically trips, instantly cutting off the circuit to prevent damage to electrical equipment.
